GOVERNMENT CENTRAL PRESS
The Government Central Press at Thattanchavady, Pondicherry
is the prime print production unit of the Department of Stationery and
Printing. The press is equipped with latest Offset printing technology
and is capable of multi-colour printing. Intricate printing jobs are undertaken
and delivered to the full satisfaction of the indenting department. The
yearly Calendar, Diary are printed in bulk and in high quality which are
used by every officer of this administration. The Confidential Section
of this press was established during early 80's, to cater to the jobs
of Confidential nature like printing of Budget Documents, Question Papers
etc. The Department's warehouse and stores are also in the premises
of the Government Central Press.
The Gazette of Pondicherry is published every Tuesday by the Government
Central Press.
Activities of Government Central Press
The Government Central Press functions under two officers of the rank
of Deputy Director-Deputy Director (Works) and Deputy Director (Confidential
Section). The Deputy Director (Works) is the Head of the Office of the
entire establishment of the Central Press.
